OVERVIEW

The Head of PYLARIFY HCP Sales has the unique opportunity to impact the lives of patients living with various forms of prostate cancer. S/he will be responsible for leading an innovative commercial market and sales approach to advance the franchise and expand and protect PSMA PET imaging, and position ‘PET with PYLARIFY’ as the standard of care in U.S. prostate cancer diagnostic imaging. This role will also be responsible for sales of any future pipeline and acquired prostate cancer products. S/he will need to have strong strategic and analytical skills and will be responsible for ensuring the attainment of the franchise strategic and financial goals as well as developing short and long-term plans in support of the corporate objectives and to meet the needs of our key stakeholders and customers.

The leader will be required to maximize the product(s) business potential by ensuring the franchise has appropriate planning and execution inclusive of promotion, price and placement. S/he will have responsibility for identifying and evaluating market opportunities and commercialization efforts which include directly leading sales leadership and sales teams as well as future launches efforts. Specific products include but are not limited to: PYLARIFY (F 18-labeled PET imaging agent targeting prostate-specific membrane Antigen or PSMA), PNT2002 (177Lu-based PSMA-targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy in development for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer), and 1095 (PSMA-targeted iodine-131 labeled small molecule) among other potential assets. This position requires strong in-line leadership as well as the ability to influence and engage across the organization (e.g., Market Access, Regulatory, Contracting, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, International, Medical, Business Development, etc.).

S/he will be an ambassador for instilling our cultural values and influential in recruiting, retaining and developing talent to deliver better patient outcomes. It will also be the responsibility of this position to execute continued efforts towards enterprise resource planning to ensure long term sustainability of the business and improve our employee experience and productivity.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Franchise Head will:

  • Establish portfolio vision and strategy; lead in-line team members and partner cross functionally to drive sales and create and leverage business opportunities. Confident presenting full range of sales and market insights and key strategic information to executive leadership.
  • Champion and instill company and cultural values. Ensure initiatives align with Lantheus’ culture and corporate goals.
  • Lead the sale team to manage growth and change, develop human capital, and create and maintain a culture of engagement and accountability. Recruit, retain, develop and coach talent to create business impact and achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Direct analytics, pricing, objectives, investments, deployment and policies and procedures for effective and compliant marketing and selling of the franchise products and services
  • Oversee forecast and budget development, refinement, and management in relation to quarterly, annual and long-range strategic plans.
  • Lead operational functions and disciplines that are responsible for supporting achievement of sales objectives and assume accountability for organizational results; influence personnel to achieve and or exceed objectives. Proactively communicate with relevant internal stakeholders to identify, plan, develop and/or revise project deliverables which are identified for product or launch success.
  • Establish KPIs, leading indicators and incentive compensation plan to achieve/exceed company revenue goals; ensure appropriate tracking and monitoring of execution progress.
  • Execute continued efforts towards enterprise resource planning to ensure long term sustainability of the business. Ensure processes, systems and projects meet Lantheus compliance policies and guidelines.
  • Conduct market analysis to create, implement and update strategic sales plans and performance objectives as appropriate; anticipate market trends; ensure execution of such plans to achieve maximum revenue, growth, and profitability.
  • Leverage and align full range of resources to meet rigorous timelines; routinely make decisions that affect current and long-range corporate objectives.
  • Assess new market opportunities and propose new business considerations to executive team; partner with business leadership for broader/deeper evaluation; direct and/or evaluate and/or support licensing initiatives and programs to include reviewing, editing and negotiating contracts, initiating proposals, and closing deals; provide input for new products and new product strategies.
  • Negotiate agreements with internal/external senior management that are critical to attainment of organizational objectives; provide consultative support and guidance to other executive leadership team members in planning marketing, sales, licensing, alliance and related initiatives through market and sales analyses, reports, and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate and employ the judgment, flexibility and situational leadership required to lead sales and marketing through complex combinations of market challenges, including business and organizational change necessitated by changes in the medical, regulatory, and business environment.

  • Contribute sales and industry expertise to the development and execution of corporate strategic plan as appropriate; consistently demonstrates exceptional judgement.
  • Build and cultivate productive relationships with internal and external thought leaders, clinical and market KOLs, business leaders / organizations, alliance partners and colleagues that are essential to the success of Lantheus products and business at large.
  • Lead the franchise team to manage growth and change, develop human capital, and create and maintain a culture of engagement and accountability. Consistent track record of providing prompt and objective feedback, coaching, and counseling to enhance or improve performance by setting expectations and holding individuals accountable for performance and behavior.
  • Champion and instill company and cultural values. Ensure initiatives align with Lantheus’ culture and corporate goals.
  • Proven ability to communicate ideas and information both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner to all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make enterprise-wide decisions and remain persistently focused on priorities.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 10+ years in positions of escalating scope and responsibility within regulated life sciences organizations or the equivalent
  • Extensive sales and commercial experience with at least 10 years in leadership and management roles with a solid record of achievement in either therapeutics or diagnostics, including launch experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and or medical device industry and hospital systems (e.g., GPOs, Medical Directors, P&T Committees, referral patterns, etc.), as well as federal, state, industry, company and customer compliance regulations and policy
  • Wide ranging command of pharmaceutical / diagnostic / med device marketing methods, tools and concepts. (e.g., market research, advertising, public relations, product promotion, media placement, etc.) as well as sales tenets, including sales force deployment, targeting, call plans and metrics, business plans, sales training, clinical and competitive selling, comprehensive account management, incentive compensation, and distributor / partner management

Preferred:

  • Experience in Oncology, including prostate cancer
  • Clinical and/or technical discipline knowledge (e.g., radiopharmaceuticals, urology related disease states, treatment paradigms, and future trends)
  • MBA
  • International Experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Routine overnight travel based on business need and frequent weekend work may be required.
